Chris focuses primarily on private equity and VC-backed financings, entrepreneurship and executive management. In addition, Chris enjoys acting as outside general counsel for private investment firms and emerging growth companies.

Prior to launching FM Stern in 2010, Chris spent 9 years at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in NYC. Chris holds a BA from UC Berkeley and JD from NYU Law.

Jenny Friedman - PANELIST

Partner, Supernode Ventures
Jenny joined from Eniac Ventures, where she focused primarily on early stage investments in mobile first technology including enterprise and consumer facing applications and platforms in addition to devices such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, drones, robots, and IoT. 

Prior to Eniac, Jenny spent time in an operational role at Minibar Delivery, an e-commerce startup, focusing on data analytics and business development. She worked as a financial professional at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Management Division.
Jenny graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Business School. She is a member of Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Alumni Association. Jenny was born and raised in New York City.

Katherine Zamsky - PANELIST

Managing Partner at Carbon Ventures
Katherine is Managing Partner at Carbon Ventures, an impact venture fund investing in advanced technologies that reduce carbon emissions. Katherine has been in the alternative investment space for over 15 years, structuring transactions and investment vehicles, and building technology. Her buy- and sell-side background and wide family office and institutional network make her indispensable in co-investment and customer introductions.

Katherine has had a long career in private equity/hedge fund management, multi-sector portfolio allocations, and structuring transactions. At Bank of America, she launched and ran private equity and hedge feeder funds for the $65B wealth management platform and was a board observer at some of the largest PE firms. She also built platform’s operational infrastructure and technology. Katherine started her career at AIG’s hedge fund-of-funds team managing portfolio allocations.
Katherine holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Nick Adams - PANELIST

Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Differential Ventures
Nick is a co-founder and managing partner of Differential Ventures and an investor on ZeeTV's startup fundraising show 'Break Through the Crowd.' 

Previously, Nick was a Venture Partner at Supernode.vc, f.k.a. Flatiron Investors, in New York City where he evaluated seed- stage SaaS companies and led the due diligence for multiple investments. Before moving into Venture Capital, Nick held senior sales, marketing and product management roles for software companies that have realized over $1.3 billion in exit value, including: Opower (IPO), RAGE Frameworks (acquired by Genpact), Basware (Publicly-traded on OMX), and Comverge (acquired by Itron). 

Nick actively mentors startups out of Cornell Tech, NYU, Northeastern University and the German Tech Accelerator. Nick has a MSc in Global Finance from NYU and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, a MBA in Corporate Finance from Northeastern University and a BA in History from Brandeis University where he played four years of varsity baseball.
